On Friday of last week I had some free time, so I thought about possibly getting a sunset shot over River Street. After checking the weather forecast and scoping out possible vantage points online, I decided the conditions were very favorable for a spectacular sunset.
This photo was taken across the Savannah River, near the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center. From this vantage point, you are looking out over the Savannah River, with River Street on the other side. In the far right of the photo is the very beginning of the Talmadge Memorial Bridge. Directly on the other side of this bridge is South Carolina.
I arrived in this area around 5:50pm and walked around for a bit to try and find the best angle to get the shot. The sunset wasn’t until 6:27pm, so I had a good bit of time. I thought I had found the perfect spot and took several shots, however, I decided to take another quick look around and ended up finding the spot that this sunset shot was taken from. I think the flags add a nice extra touch and help tell more of a story.
