The fountain in this photo is named “Friendship Fountain” and is located in Jacksonville, Florida. I was there last week to host my very first PhotoWalk. There were roughly 12-15 people who showed up, which was a perfectly acceptable amount for me. :)
I hadn’t previously mentioned this on my blog, but I was asked by SmugMug to travel around the country and give presentations to the “SMUGs Meetups” that they sponsor. Never heard of one of these? If you’re into photography, it’s worth checking to see if there is one of these groups near your town. To summarize, these are local clubs which usually meet monthly and offer a variety of learning materials and presentations to help you with skills and techniques related to photography. You can find out all about them by searching the Meetup.com website at http://www.meetup.com/find.
Since my presentation to the group was on HDR post-processing, I thought it would be fun to host a PhotoWalk the night before and then process one of the photos during my presentation the next evening. And that’s exactly what I did… This post’s photo is the one I post-processed during my presentation.
Dawn McCarthy is the SMUG leader for the Jacksonville group and is the one who picked “Friendship Fountain” as the location for the PhotoWalk. It was perfect! (Oh, and if you’re looking for a Jacksonville Photographer, I highly recommend her.)
My next presentation is going to be at the Nashville SMUG Photographers Meetup on September 19th at 6pm. I’ll likely hold a PhotoWalk the night before while I’m there too. If you live near Nashville and would like to attend either/both the PhotoWalk and /or my presentation, please RSVP for free at http://www.meetup.com/nashvillesmugmug/events/29375681.
Dawn was also nice enough to snap a couple of photos of me during the PhotoWalk and emailed them to me so I could share them with you. Thanks Dawn!!!

Awesome photo!
